When
restoring the old farmhouses (click here
for
the history of Villa Stabbia), great care was taken to ensure that
the original character was maintained both in and outside. In addition,
most furnishings are antique.
The houses were restored preserving the original materials and
structures whenever possible: floors covered with handmade cotto,
well-worn stone stairs and ceilings where the beams show the history of
the place - all part of the ancient buildings. The antique furniture was
chosen to let visiting guests taste the atmosphere of the past and of
the rural life in the Italian countryside.
The common facilities include:
- Outdoor area for picnics
- BBQ - one for each house and one large common one
- Covered Car Park
- Laundry room with washing machine and iron (free - no coins)
- Free WiFi covering almost the entire area.
- Local Information materials and general tourist information
- Games and games room with table tennis, "fuss-ball", croquet,
mikado, boule...
- Children's playground
- Free usage of bikes and mountain bikes
- Access to the growing library
- ... and among the olive trees, overlooking the valley, a most
welcoming panoramic swimming-pool.

roen.
Tusind tak for en rigtig god ferie.

Wir waren ja letztes Jahr schon 2 Mal bei euch und sind in 2 Monaten
schon wieder an diesem Traumplatz. So what is an Agriturismo,
or "agricultural tourism" actually?
Basically it is first and
foremost
a working farm that in addition to the farming has
opened its home to offer rustic to elegant accommodation.
The Agriturismo is usually a family-run operation, and guests have the
option to actually see how the produce is made, meet the producer and
find out what goes into food production. At the same time guests can
gain more information about environmental responsibility and animal
welfare - often with the possibility to interact with the animals.
It is important to remember that an Agriturismo is not an hotel -
but a fully functioning farm. Some Agritourismi are extremely luxurious
though and offer swimming pools, air-condition and all the luxuries that
one might find in a five star resort.
However, all offer a unique farm experience and are generally
appealing to all family members.
