Dismantling the wine barrels

Since the wine production on a grand scale ceased many years ago, it was finally time to implement the sad decision to dismantle the old wine barrels.
They were no longer in good shape and would have fallen too pieces by themselves.
It was interesting to see them inside - where they for years on end had been cleaned by a small person entering the top hole and hacking the sediments away.
When the last six wine barrels were all dismantled, an era of wine making at Villa Stabbia had come to an end.
